DEEP DOWN DIGGER

ERDBEWEGUNGEN

DEEP DOWN DIGGER - A young trainee not looking for anything finds everything on a cemetery.

Young Hannah doesn‘t know what to expect from life. Begrudgingly she starts her first day of work at the cemetery as the trainee of the grim gardener Eli. Eli’s quirky ways, his seemingly misanthropic taciturnity, the physically strenuous work as well as the deadly silent location are a cause for upset with Hannah. Through their joint work experience however, Eli starts to take this headstrong woman to his heart and the graveyard starts showing a different side to Hannah. She is met with trust, and she gets to know not only the physical demands but also the emotional ones. Silence turns to calm and Hannah gains respect for mourning, empathy and thoughtfulness. An unlikely friendship starts to develop.

Deep Down Digger is a 5-minute short film for the Hamburg Media School.
